Fees for Mediation

Mediation is $160 an hour (which is $80 an hour per party).

Note: there are no hidden fees or add-on fees such as "scheduling fees", etc. For example, some mediators charge $1,500 as an initial scheduling fee or "booking fee" on top of the regular hourly fee.

Usually mediation is paid equally by both parties, but other arrangements can be made. Mediation cost is rounded to the nearest quarter hour.

Multi-party or corporate mediation is billed at $200 per hour total (so each party typically pays their portion, which can be a nominal fee depending on the number of parties).

Other billing arrangements can be made in advance such as if one party agrees to pay for the mediation.

Every mediation conducted is unique and the time needed for each varies.

The Typical Divorce Mediation Costs:

Divorce mediation typically takes 2-8 hours, and thus typically costs $320 to $1,280 depending on the complexity and the number of issues to resolve. The current average is most commonly 5-6 hours, thus costing approximately $1,000 or less. Divided by two parties, the current average divorce mediation costs each party approximately $500. Less commonly, some disputes have been resolved in two hours.

Travel

is charged half my rate, $80 an hour total. I travel widely throughout Colorado, the United States and also can arrange international mediations. Sometimes attorneys or clients will choose to hold the mediation in one attorney's office. If this is agreed upon, this can be arranged per the above fees.

Payments:

Payment is due at the time of service and can be made conveniently by cash or check. I currently do not take credit cards.
